HealthEd – The Role of the GP in Diagnosing & Managing Patients with Klinefelter’s Disease and Male Hypogonadism – Lecture

Klinefelter’s syndrome (KS) is the most common cause of primary testicular failure and the incidence varies between one in every 450 to 650 men. It is estimated that over half of all cases are never diagnosed, possibly due to the broad spectrum of symptoms and phenotype. Chromosomal analysis is required for diagnosis, and this lecture by A/Prof Carolyn Allan, Head of Endocrine Services in Pregnancy, Monash Health, covers the management of KS, which requires multidisciplinary care involving the GP.
